Led Zep was playing small colleges in the US at the time, Buffalo Springfield, Cream and The Byrds were all disbanded, White audiences wouldn't know who Buddy Guy is, same is true with BB King. Pink Floyd and the Velvet Underground were both considered at the time to be terrible bands, the Doors didn't play a major festival until the Isle of Wight in 1970.
