Intel thinks they can save money in the long run by consolidating their processor line into one SKU - and sell "upgrade cards" to add capabilities back into the same processor you purchased completely via software. Yikes, although consumers will probably be told this will help a computers capabilities grow with thier needs, but AMD all the way.
