And a company making another game in the same genre as an older one isn't necessarily just the same game over and over again, it's just maintaining what people liked about the previous one, again. Even the laziest of sequels tend to be different enough to not be the "same game" as their predecessor.

People loved what they were, so the company kept making more of them, with small adjustments, more modern aspects and quality of life improvements, and people liked what they got. Every decade or two they mix things up a bit and try introducing something completely new, and it always gets a mixed reception because people want more of the same old thing. Because they like it. And that's okay.
05.11.2021 - 09:26:02 <anon> Mitäs vittua? Olihan tuossa Elden Ringissä tiettyjä elementtejä Dark Souls 3:sta, mutta samalla se oli täysin uusi peli mekaniikoiltaan ja teemaltaan. Muutos ns. dungeon crawlerista openworld-peliksi on mielestäni sellainen muutos jo, jota ei voi Ubisoftin, EA:n tai Activisionin joka vuotisista liukuhihnapeleistä puhua. Neljä vuotta jo Sekiron julkaisustakin tuon ilmestyessä, että eiköhän se ole korkea aika jo uudelle FromSoft pelille.
05.11.2021 - 09:28:11 <anon> Toisaalta antaapa ihmisten pelailla mitä haluaa. Itse en ymmärrä COD, Battlefieldia tai FarCry/Assassin's Creed pelejä, mutta ymmärrän jos ihmiset tykkäävät pelailla niitä. Samanlaisia kaulapartoja me kaikki ollaan loppupeleissä.
05.11.2021 - 09:31:36 <anon> Yksinpelit on paskoille pelaajille ja kaikki samanlaisia. Samaa sontaa kuin Marvel-leffat. Moninpelit on muuten vaan paskoja, koska kuka nyt 2000-luvulla haluis tehä mitään kunnolla, paitsi tietysti massia omaan taskuun.
05.11.2021 - 10:08:53 <anon> Joo melko vaikeaa nykyään löytää mitään hyvää yksinpeliä, josta oikeasti tykkäisi. Kaikki tuntuu olevan nykyään vaan toistensa kopioita, eikä oikein mitään omaperäistä synny koskaan. Onneksi PC:lle tehdään jälleen strategiapelejä kiitettävästi, kun tuntui jossain vaiheessa olevan melko kuollut genre.
